Man arrested for threating to attack a non-existent train platform
This non-entertainment news, but such a stupid person deserves an exception:
A man has been arrested for posting a thread on 2-channel announcing his intent to murder people at a location in Tokyo, Japan, that does not actually exist:
“I didn’t think threatening to attack a railway station that doesn’t exist would constitute a crime,” he was quoted as telling investigators.
Sakiyama posted a message on an online bulletin board on June 28, threatening to launch an indiscriminate attack at “Ueno Station on the Saikyo Line,” local police said.
“I’ll show you how to avoid being arrested after threatening to launch an attack,” the message read. “At 9 p.m. today, I’ll murder many people at Ueno Station on the Saikyo Line.”
Ueno Station is real and so is the Saikyo line, but the Saikyo line does not actually pass through Ueno Station. Authorities had responded to the threat by having officers put on alert in areas of Ueno Station that actually exist.

Idiot of the day: stealing money from your wife …
… by putting fake bills in her purse. She got discovered, he got yelled at, and then came forward.
A trucker who counterfeited 10,000-yen notes and secretly swapped real notes in his wife’s purse with the fake bills because he wanted money to go out for a drink has been arrested, police said.
Masahiro Fujiwara, 47, a truck driver living in Ome, western Tokyo, stands accused of counterfeiting currency and using fake bills.
He reluctantly turned himself in to police after he was grilled by his wife, who suspected that the bills in her purse were fake, according to investigators.
“I did it because I was short of money to go out for a drink,” Fujiwara was quoted as telling investigators.
Fujiwara used a color copy machine at his home to produce about 10 fake 10,000-yen bills in June last year, local police said.
He then replaced 10,000 yen notes in his wife’s purse with the fake ones. The wife used two of the bills at a fast food store and a dental clinic later in the year without knowing that they were counterfeit.

Tips to avoid being screwed over by teenagers selling sex
One of the things that I noticed from watching Japanese movies and TV drama is that Japanese teens seem to be very liberal when it comes to sex, for better or worse. As I recall from reading an article a while back, the average age of young girls in Japan losing their virginity is more than 1 year younger than in most of other Asian countries. They do not only “enjoy” sex with their male counterparts, but also, once run out of pocket money, “sell” sex to older men. Despite Japanese law forbidding sex with minors (just like most countries in the world), the latter is surprisingly commonplace. So popular that there are even published tips for those who want to avoid being screwed by those teenagers. Below is an article I obtained, which is a translation of a recent Japanese article.
Korean female news anchor fired for giggling
I normally don’t post opinion about people from another country like this, but this is just ridiculous.
Context: At the end of the newscast, Moon Ji-ae, the news anchor for Korean TV station MBC, gave an update to the biggest news of the day, the tragic fire in Incheon that killed dozens of foreigners. Then, as usual, she said a farewell greeting to the audience, then bowed to the camera. During that though, for whatever reason, she started giggling. That angered some people, especially the Korean netizens, who pressured MBC to fire her, which they did.
My point to those Netizens: What ? That’s stupid ! I agree that her giggle was not appropriate, especially right after such a tragic news, but forced her out ? Even I myself as a foreigner think that’s way overboard. Do you know for sure why she giggled ? What’s if some idiots at the set did something that made her laughed ? What’s if she thought of doing something great after work with her friends (it’s the end anyways), and felt good about it ? Un-professional, yes, but not to the point of being fired! Make her give a public apology is good enough. Honestly, instead of sitting in front of a computer, get a life, try to find a job yourself (no, chatting and blogging ain’t job) before destroying other people’s livelihood ! Jeeze ! I would be afraid if I’m a public figure in Korea !
