Legend Of Twin Dragons (Nicholas Tse, Yuen Biao, 2007)

Shuang Long Ji / Legend of Twin Dragons (tentative)
Yuen Biao and Nicholas Tse

Yuen Biao and Nicholas Tse

July 2007: Xi-an Evening News
Shuang Long Ji/Legend of Twin Dragons (tentative) originally planned for release this summer, has been barred from theatrical screenings in Mainland on the grounds of its violence. The director does not wish to alter the film as it would affect the plot and continuity. It’s possible that it will go straight to video instead. On the other hand, Universe Films is trying to sort things out with the Mainland censors.

PLEASE NOTE: “This is Edited with The Major Violent parts removed till the Censors figure out what to do. My personal reason to Post this Version is because those who study Wing Chun will find this rewarding. Wing Chun was developed 200 years ago By a Woman in China and it has become very effective against major forms of Kung Fu and Karate. The Best Part is, It does not take Years of Training and Study to learn this form of Martial Arts. If you watch Closely at Nicholas Tse’s demonstration, you can see the simplistic manner to use Wing Chun. It was developed for Close combat with little exertion to be effective. I am lazy and is why I chose this form of Art to study.”

Legend of Twins Dragon is about Leung Bik, the wayward son of Wing Chun master Leung Jaan, who runs away from home in order to learn martial arts and surpass his father. Leung Jaan has refused to teach Leung Bik Wing Chun due to his improper behavior, despite his natural talent for martial arts.

Also known as “Shuang Long Ji”.

This film is a movie edit of the Wing Chun TV series, a 2007 remake of the 1994 series that preceded the film “Wing Chun”.

Adapted from the 1982 kung fu classic The Prodigal Son, 2007 period drama Wing Chun teams legendary martial arts stars Sammo Hung and Yuen Biao with Hong Kong heartthrob Nicholas Tse. Yuen Biao is martial arts master Liang Zan, the same role he played in the The Prodigal Son, but he who was once young and rash is now a respected master and physician, not to mention the father of two sons.

Liang Zan must pass on his kung fu skills to the next generation, but his son Liang Bi (Nicholas Tse) is reckless, aimless, and irresponsible, much like him in his youth. Growing up in the chaos of early 1900s China, Liang Bi encounters countless troubles and trials, romance (with Hong Kong actress Rain Li), and a certain playful white-haired kung fu master (Sammo Hung) who teaches him the art of Wing Chun.

Worth watching !
