Welcome back
As you probably already saw, I’ve just completely revamped the site. The main difference here is the host: I’ve changed from wordpress.com, a free webhost environment, to a paid host. This enables me to have much more control over my own blog (sound funny, isn’t it ? ^_^), like changing the design, and adding several new features. Below is the list of new implementations, in case you haven’t noticed. Recommendations and suggestions are welcomed !!! When you are done reading and playing, please feel free to rate
On the post
- Rate a post: you can give a post from 1 star to 5 stars, based on how you like the content of it. 1 star is the worst, while 5 stars is the best.
- Share this: if you like the post, and want to share it to other people, you can post it to other popular collection sites like Digg, StumpUpon, etc.
- Views: the number of views that the particular post has. Note that it is only from Feb 02, 2008.
- Related posts: Links of the posts that are related to the particular post by a special formula.
- Comments: you will now have 15 minutes to edit your own comments, just in case you change your mind. (TURNED OFF. This is potentially eating up my bandwidth like crazy …)
On the main page
- All the pages at the top, including about me, etc. are now in dual languages, Vietnamese and English.
- Images: right under the blog banner, you can see a series of small squared images. Click on any of those and you can see the large version of it, together with other photos I have on my Flickr account.
- Sticky post: I’ll from now be able to stick a post to the front of the page, regardless of when it is posted. For example ? This post you are reading right now.
- Statistics: on the sidebar, for those who want to know how bad I am doing
- LastFM: show the 10 most recent songs that I listen to.
- Recently Updated Posts (RUP): at the bottom of the main page, or the footer, you will see a section called RUP. It shows the posts/pages that have just been edited after being posted. For example, when I edit the post to add download links of the new episode of Golden Bride, the link to the post will be put there.
- Most Read Posts.
- Highest Rated Posts: include the posts that have the highest average post rating.
- Search: the search function is now at the bottom of the page.
Others
- Updated poll interface.
- The instructions to use Hjsplit, Media Player Classic, and Megaupload are now in dual languages, Vietnamese and English.
- And of course, a completely new interface.
Upcoming
- Ajax image: an elegant way of displaying an image, but it could potentially slow down the speed quite significantly, and I’m still considering whether to implement the trick. If your computer has Java Script enabled, click on any image here to see for yourself. If your Javascript is disabled, you will just see a normal image loaded.
