The film had many flows but still I liked it.
I was expecting a comedy, but in fact the film is a tragedy. The film is beautiful to watch though, and the end is very touching.
    Thank you for the upload.

Thanks for uploading. I disliked the movie, it wasn’t good, the soundtrack - the song the girl sang was pretty good, though(I don’t know where to find it, I tried to find it but failed so if anyone has any info pls do tell). The reason the movie was lacking is actually the male actor, he was pretty bad. The girl was much much better but still - their personalities didn’t quite match. The guy made it seem like she was a shy and very girly girl which she absolutely wasn’t, her performance was better but the guy seemed more manly then he actually was. And the ending seemed to be a stretch, like her death was forced just so the movie can be thought “deeper” and more mature. I wouldn’t actually call it a waste of time because that is too harsh. I believe each and every person in that movie worked hard but it didn’t satisfy me. [/end of review] :D

Wow, a really amazing movie :)

However they’re personalities were a bit strange at first. Because in the beginning the girl was more outgoing and assertive while the boy was passive.

But after they changed bodies, the “girl in the guy’s body” became passive why the “boy in the girl’s body” was outgoing.

So that was a bit strange… but aside from that, this is a very touching movie :) Loved it so much that I’m going to get the DVD.

Nga Pham (Hạ Long): I believe there’s one subtitle file because it’s a Zip file… uncompress it once you dl it and you’ll have the two separate subtitle files.

Thank you Viet for uploading. I’ve been trying to watch a variety of movies… venturing out from my kmovies^_^. I’m half way through watching this movie… curious on how it continues to develop.

    Wow

I thought this would just be some sort of ridiculous movie.

It is ridiculous, but also hilarious, and touching.

Actually I’ve only watched the first half, and I’m saving the second half for tomorrow, in case the ending is disappointing.

The direction is hypnotic. The camera just keeps moving. The actors are great, the setting and the sets are incredible. It’s the most “Japanese” movie I’ve seen since ‘Virgin Blues’ [1974]. It’s set in Nagano, surrounded by mountains, with many scenes in old houses and at shrines. Very, very nostalgic feeling. The city should use it to promote tourism! (Except for the semi-nudity and dirty jokes, ha ha.) I get the impression the director wandered around the empty school building for ages planning camera angles and scenes. The story’s as much about the place and time as it is about the characters. I get the impression he wanted to preserve some things before they fade into history.

I think I’ll watch the first half again a few times before watching the ending. The colours, the camerawork, the costumes — this movie was made with so much love and care, even though most people would take the same script and just make some moronic (non-)entertainment out of it.

Anyway, so if the ending is rubbish, don’t blame me! but definitely it’s worth watching. Very beautiful. If the director was younger some of the shots would come across as showy and eccentric just for the sake of it, but I think it’s just this director’s idiosyncrasies, and trying to compensate for a very low budget, so lots of loose setups so as to seem improvised and cut down the need to re-shoot. Having the chance to remake his hit movie, you can tell he really loves the characters, and knows just how they should talk and behave.

I almost didn’t download it cause I thought it’d be stupid, but very surprised.

Also, if you’re learning Japanese, this is a great lesson in men’s and women’s speech.
