10 Promises to My Dog (犬と私の10の約束 Inu to Watashi no 10 no Yakusoku) is a 2008 Japanese movie based on the book by Hare Kawaguchi and directed by Katsuhide Motoki.

Plot

A 12-year-old girl named Akari gets a puppy and names it Socks. She loves Socks and spends practically every moment with him. However, as she gets older she’s able to spend less and less time with him, due to a busy life and having to move away. She leaves socks with a childhood friend but eventually she’s reminded of the promises she made to him as a child.

    I saw the whole movie, without subs and I felt that I could understand the whole story, although I don´t speak or understand japanese. I got the essence of it and am really greatfull for watching this movie. It resembled a part of my life, when “Daniel”, my dog, died by a car, but the message he left to me… his loyalty, partnership and confidence made me a better person. He made me understand what empathy means, and how I develop it in the relationship where I live. Here in Chile I´ld never see this kind of movies, but thanks to the Internet that discovered BoA 5 years ago and, by this track, got to know about this movie. Arigatou for uploading it >·<

    Thanks so much for uploading this. I was about to download until I realize that the dog is probably going to die (I assume…you know, all animal movies always ends in the death of a loyal pet). And I’m not ready for that right now…hahahha. I believe kloofy has recently posted subs for this under their “latest subtitles.” Thanks again!
