2,240 police, 460 patrol cars, copter mobilized for car chase in Osaka

OSAKA — Police on Thursday arrested a wanted man after a two-hour car chase that involved 2,240 officers, 460 police cars and one helicopter. Hirofumi Fukuda, 27, who had been wanted for assaulting police officers on Jan 21, was arrested after a chase through central Osaka. Around 11 a.m., police received an emergency call saying that a car was driving recklessly, ignoring traffic lights. When a patrol car approached the vehicle in question, it took off.

Police were mobilized throughout the area and a helicopter called in. The chase ended when Fukuda’s car crashed into a bridge column. He sustained light injuries but no one else was injured in the chase.

Every Little Thing - Sakurabito

My favorite Japanese band, Every Little Thing, opens the new year with their 35th single Sakurabito, to be released next month. Mocchi’s very special voice fits great with the this song. Sakurabito is literally translated as “Cherryman”, or “Sakura Man”.

Tips to avoid being screwed over by teenagers selling sex

One of the things that I noticed from watching Japanese movies and TV drama is that Japanese teens seem to be very liberal when it comes to sex, for better or worse. As I recall from reading an article a while back, the average age of young girls in Japan losing their virginity is more than 1 year younger than in most of other Asian countries. They do not only “enjoy” sex with their male counterparts, but also, once run out of pocket money, “sell” sex to older men. Despite Japanese law forbidding sex with minors (just like most countries in the world), the latter is surprisingly commonplace. So popular that there are even published tips for those who want to avoid being screwed by those teenagers. Below is an article I obtained, which is a translation of a recent Japanese article.

Yoon Eun Hye in New York (Updated with video of the trip for download)

Three reasons: I’m one of her fans; she is so cute in these; I’ve just come back from New York. Gotta re-post this. :) But seriously, I’ve been wondering for a while, how could these artists have fun when cameramen following their every steps ? Absolutely no private time at all. What is the point of traveling ? And lastly, I didn’t see many photos at NY’s major landmarks. Let’s hope that she went there, but couldn’t take pictures due to the logistics. Otherwise, it would be a waste.
