Synopsys (IMDB)
8-year old Yotaro gains a 3-year old step-sister, Kaoru, when his mother marries a jazz musician who plays in a club in Naha, Okinawa where they live. Before long Kaoru’s father deserts them, and not long afterward Yota’s mother becomes terminally ill. Her dying wish is for him to watch out for Kaoru at his grandmother’s place on a small island off the coast of Okinawa. He fulfills her wish and becomes very protective of his younger sister who calls him “nee-nee.” Thirteen years later Kaoru returns to Naha and comes to live with him as she starts high school. Yota works hard making deliveries of vegetables from an open-air market by day, and in a restaurant (he is a licensed chef) by night to save money to fulfill his dream of having his own restaurant. He also assumes the role of pushing for Kaoru’s entrance to a university. This allows less time for his beautiful girlfriend Keiko, the daughter of a doctor and a medical student at Ryukyu University. It seems that Yota’s dreams start to come together when Mr. Kameoka sells him a place for a restaurant. Yota works hard constructing the place, but just as he is to open, the real owner appears. Being swindled, Yota is left with a large outstanding loan. Keiko’s father’s plans do not include a working class son-in-law as he explains when he offers to pay Yota’s debt. Although he refuses, Yota concludes he is not best for Keiko’s future. Years later he continues to overwork even after the debt is paid and Kaoru starts university study. With her feelings of love for Yota growing deeper, they mutually decide to live apart. Written by Brian Greenhalgh

Hi, I want to thank you Viet, for uploading this good movie.
The subtitle files seem to be the other version of avi files, so i try to tweak (cut the first 2-3 minutes of 2nd srt and paste them into the first srt).

This is the links of my tweaked versions of srt:
    Sub1: http://www.megaupload.com/?d=K071NYD1
    Sub2: http://www.megaupload.com/?d=ROMHM4M3

    Hope this help.

Hi, I watched this recently. I cried at the very end. =( It was a good movie. Anyone knows where can I get the OST? I tried the megaupload link but it says the slots allocated to my country are full.

Just watched this movie (downloaded it a few months ago but without subtitle, so I just bought the DVD version last week). I wonder if you have the OST of this movie and can you send/upload it? I were really impressed with the soundtrack at the end of the movie - it’s kinda sum up the whole feeling after watching the movie.

What not to:
  • - Ask me to upload to other services: I do understand that some of you might have problems downloading from megaupload, but you should also understand that I might have problems uploading using other services. With the sheer volume of files that I upload everyday, 1) mega-manager is the only reliable uploading software, 2) megaupload is the only one which allows big enough size, 3) megaupload is the one that keeps the files alive the longest. For files smaller than 100MB, I've been using sharebee, which creates links to multiple services., and that is the biggest improvement i've seen in 2,3 years. I'm open to suggestions, but if your only comment is "please use other services because megaupload sux in my country", then don't bother.
